In addition to the work on East Fork Poplar Creek and the Watts Bar Reservoir, ATSDR has

  • Provided technical assistance to the state of Tennessee on the Oak Ridge Health Studies and participated in Oak Ridge Health Agreement Steering Panel meetings and other meetings related to the Oak Ridge Reservation.
  • Reviewed a local physician's health concerns and helped to facilitate additional testing of some of the physician's patients, 1992-1993.
  • Provided technical assistance to an employee concerning possible cyanide exposure at the K 25 facility, February 1996-June 1996. Referred the employee to NIOSH for a workplace evaluation. NIOSH's health hazard evaluation concluded that K 25 employees are not exposed to cyanide compounds in the workplace.
  • Conducted a physician education session on cyanide toxicity and participated in other health education activities.
