In support of the International Polar Year (IPY), 2007-2009, and the 50th anniversary of the International Geophysical Year (IGY) , the National Science Foundation—Office of Polar Programs has made outdoor color images of Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station and McMurdo Station at Ross Island available to the public.
