A new exhibit, "Good Medicine, Bad Behavior: Drug Diversion in America," is currently open to visitors at the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Museum in Arlington, VA.

Information includes the history of prescription drug abuse, its effects on society, and DEA efforts to combat the problem. Displays include re-created American pharmacy counters from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Other sections include:

  • "The Science of Drugs," which explores how prescription medications act on the brain when used properly or improperly;

  • "Pain Management," which explains the critical balance between promoting pain relief and preventing the abuse of these powerful medications; and

  • "Lost Talent," where visitors will learn about real individuals who have died as a result of prescription drug abuse and drug violence.
