A nurse is an individual who has specific training and certification to care for the sick, infirm, or disabled. While you may be most familiar with hospital nursing, there are other areas nurses practice their profession, including:

  • home care,
  • private practice,
  • public health,
  • clinics,
  • offices,
  • hospices, and
  • other health-related industries.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there will be a need for approximately 1,001,000 registered nurses between 2006 and 2016!
