Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative
Working together with DOE, the State of Hawaii is aiming to have 70% of its energy needs supplied by renewable resources by the year 2030—reducing their overall consumption of crude oil by up to 72%. On January 28th, 2008, the Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative was kicked off by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the State of Hawaii and DOE.
