UNITED STATES BANKRUPTCY COURT

Please be advised that by the end of August 2009, the Court will upgrade to CM/ECF Version 3.3.2. This upgrade includes additional attorney redaction responsibilities. Petition preparer software vendors are advised that software modifications may be needed. Please contact Mike Wint for further information.

Bankruptcy laws help people who can no longer pay their creditors get a fresh start by liquidating their assets to pay their debts or by creating a debt repayment plan.

Bankruptcy laws also protect troubled businesses and provide for orderly distributions to business creditors through reorganization or liquidation.

These procedures are covered under Title 11 of the United States Code (the Bankruptcy Code). The vast majority of cases are filed under either Chapter 7, Chapter 11, or Chapter 13 of the Bankruptcy Code.
