Melinda Love

Melinda Love is the Regional Director of the Region V – Tempe office. As Regional Director, Love is responsible for the oversight of the chartering program for federal credit unions and the examination and supervision programs for all federally insured credit unions in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

Love also served as regional director in the former Chicago region covering seven mid-western states. Prior to becoming a Regional Director, Love served as NCUA’s deputy executive director, where she was responsible for assisting the executive director as the agency’s administrative head. She also served as the principal advisor to the executive director on management and related matters. Additionally, Love has served as the deputy director of the headquarters Office of Examination and Insurance. Love began her NCUA career in 1986 as an examiner in Northern California. She held positions as principal examiner, problem case officer, supervision analyst, supervisory examiner and acting director of special actions. Love participated in NCUA’s management development program in the early 1990s.

Love holds a degree in accounting and an MBA. She is a certified internal auditor and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
