The President’s Management Agenda has already helped the Department of Energy to achieve tangible results, results that are developing new, safe and dependable sources of energy, protecting the environment, and safeguarding our energy security. But the real benefits will be seen in the future, as the new emphasis on results.  Some of the milestones we intend to reach in the near term include the following:

• Protecting our citizens;
• Increasing the supply of dependable energy;
• Safeguarding the environment and public health;
• Protecting our energy infrastructure;
• Providing our military with a safe, secure and reliable nuclear deterrent; and
• Bringing cutting-edge science to bear on critical national energy priorities.
