CORPORATION PLEADS GUILTY VIOLATING FEDERAL LAWS

United States Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan announced today, July 5, 2007, that on July 3, 2007, SparesGlobal, Inc., corporation located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of Conspiracy to commit several federal violations related to the shipment of graphite products to the United Arab Emirates with potential nuclear and military applications.

SparesGlobal, Inc. pleaded guilty to one count before United States District Judge Nora Barry Fischer.

In connection with the guilty plea, Assistant United States Attorney Brendan T. Conway advised the court that SparesGlobal, Inc. conspired with individuals and another corporation to falsify documents related to the graphite shipment, and then attempted to mislead federal investigators when questioned about the shipment and the documents.

Judge Fischer scheduled sentencing for October 4, 2007. The law provides for a total sentence of five years of probation, a fine of $500,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based upon the seriousness of the offense and the criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

The United States Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry and Security, Office of Export Enforcement conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of SparesGlobal, Inc.
