Fryzel Meets With Filene Institute Director

September 11, Alexandria, Va. – National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Chairman Michael E. Fryzel met yesterday with Ben Rogers, the Filene Research Institution’s CU Tomorrow project leader and director of the Institute’s 30 Under 30 group. The former CEO Reports journalist now hosts a popular blog designed to attract Generation “Y,” to join and consider careers in credit unions.

“Strategic planning, succession planning and member growth are all intertwined, and the Filene Institute is taking an impressive leadership role in fostering new thinking on these subjects. Attracting the next generation to membership and employment must be a mandatory exercise for today’s credit union leaders,” said NCUA Chairman Michael Fryzel. “Welcoming and encouraging new faces and ideas is an important component in the evolution of the credit union industry.”

The National Credit Union Administration is the independent federal agency that regulates charters and supervises federal credit unions. NCUA, with the backing of the full faith and credit of the U.S. government, also operates and manages the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, insuring the deposits of nearly 87 million account holders in all federal credit unions and the majority of state-chartered credit unions.
