NTSB SENDING TEAM TO ASSIST INDONESIA IN INVESTIGATION OF 737 CRASH
Earlier today, Adam Air flight 574, a Boeing 737-400 (PK-KKW), from the island of Java to Salawesi, lost contact with air traffic controllers and is presumed lost. There were approximately 100 persons aboard.
NTSB Chairman Mark V. Rosenker has designated senior investigator Robert Benzon as U.S. Accredited Representative. In addition to an NTSB structures investigator, representatives from the Federal Aviation Administration, Boeing Aircraft Company and General Electric Engines will join the team.
Information on the progress of the investigation will be released by the government of Indonesia.
