220 DM 2
2.1 General Program Authority. Subject to the limitation in 220 DM 2.3, the Director, U.S. Geological Survey, is authorized to exercise the authority necessary to perform the functions set forth in 43 U.S.C. 31-50 and 44 U.S.C. 1318-1320.
2.2 Program Activities. The activities performed by the U.S. Geological Survey under the legislation noted, and by other directives of the Department of the Interior are stated in its organization statement in the Departmental Manual: 120 DM 1.
2.3 Limitation. Whenever any activity requires review or approval at the Departmental level, clearance will be made through the Assistant SecretaryBWater and Science.
