Chapter 5: Payment for Publication of Proceedings of Conferences or Symposia

5.1 Policy. Payments may be made to publish or assist in the publication of the proceedings of conferences or symposia devoted to a subject of direct interest to a Department program provided such payments are determined by applying the criteria set forth in 476 DM 1.3 and 2.1 to be proper and necessary.

5.2 Payment Less than Total Publication Cost. If part of the cost of publication is covered by contributions of other sponsors or participants, the Department may pay its proportionate share and statutory requirements with respect to printing will not apply. If the Department bears the entire cost of publication, it will arrange for printing in accordance with 314 DM.
