Facts: presidential honors
By regulation and law, America’s deceased presidents are honored each year on their birthdays. A general officer from the nearest military installation visits the gravesite and participates in a wreath-laying ceremony as a representative of the sitting president of the United States.
Training and Doctrine Command is responsible for ceremonies honoring four deceased presidents:
