DESPR conducts research and supports research training in the fields of reproduction, child health, and maternal health as part of the NICHD’s intramural research portfolio. The Division’s research portfolio includes studies on: infant morality; biometry, mathematics, and statistical methodology and consultation; epidemiology; human fecundity and fertility; pregnancy complications and adverse pregnancy outcomes; childhood injuries; teen driving; pediatric infectious diseases; birth defects; and behavioral research in health promotion and disease prevention.
