New Report Finds Health Content Placed in Grey’s Anatomy Episode Quadrupled Awareness Among Television Audience
New reports from the Kaiser Family Foundation document how well viewers learn and retain health information from embedded content in an episode of Grey's Anatomy and measure how prevalent health content is in popular prime time entertainment television.
 
 
Study Finds Advertising by Insurers Favors Medicare Advantage Over Stand-Alone Drug Plans
As the marketing period for 2009 Medicare plans nears, a new Kaiser Family Foundation study finds that insurers last year placed three times more advertisements to promote Medicare Advantage plans than they did to promote stand-alone Medicare drug plans. The study examined the content and frequency of television, print and radio advertisement for Medicare plans last year that aired nationally and locally in Miami/Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Phoenix, Ariz.; and Greensboro, N.C.
 
 
Deadline To Apply for Kaiser Mini-Fellowships in Global Health Reporting: October 23
The program will award ten mini-fellowships for print, broadcast and online journalists working for English-language news organizations with audiences in North America and/or Europe to research and report on global health issues, with a particular focus on HIV/AIDS, TB and malaria.
