SEER 1973-2005 Limited-Use Data - CD #2 August 4, 2008 The following is a description of the contents of CD #2 from the SEER 1973-2005 Limited-Use CD set. The database on this CD is stored in ASCII text format and must be analyzed with your own statistical/analytical software. Additional information regarding the SEER 1973-2005 Limited-Use Data is located on the SEER Web site at: http://seer.cancer.gov/data This CD contains the following: - SEER Cancer Incidence Limited-Use Database for patients diagnosed 1973-2005 - County level population estimates for the SEER registries by 19 age groups and single ages from the Census Bureau for 1973-2005 - Data dictionaries for the SEER and population data Revision History: 8/4/2008 - A correction was made to the "Histology recode - broad groupings" variable. Specifically, the values/labels for "9530-9539: meningiomas" and "9490-9529: neuroepitheliomatous neoplasms" were reversed. 4/15/2008 - Initial release. Similar in nature to the previous 1973-2004 version except the July - December 2005 Louisiana diagnoses are being distributed as a supplement to the SEER Limited-Use Data. Hurricane Katrina had a large impact on Louisiana's population for this six month time period so these diagnoses are not analyzed in most SEER reporting. Consequently, the populations on this CD now include one decimal place and the record length of those files has increased by 2 bytes.
