This report uses data from the Health Behavior in School-aged Children survey, conducted in 29 countries, to compare U.S. teens with their peers in other nations on indicators of health in the context of family, school, and peers. These international comparisons demonstrate common factors and highlight differences associated with cultural influences; in addition, they show health-related characteristics that are common to adolescents at specific developmental stages regardless of nationality.
