Senior DOE Official to Deliver Opening Remarks at “Walk-Through” of Yucca Mountain License Application

WASHINGTON, DC – On Thursday, June 19, 2008, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Director of the Office of Civilian Radioactive Waste Management Ward Sproat will deliver opening remarks at a “walk-through” of DOE’s license application for the proposed high-level nuclear waste repository at Yucca Mountain, Nevada.  DOE will explain the layout and organization of the application to the staff of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission during a public meeting at the NRC headquarters.
