In 1965, the Denver Juvenile Court was the first court in the nation to use VISTA members in a special effort to curb delinquency. VISTA members Bob Grant of Tucson and Randy Kinder of Philadelphia counseled and assisted troubled children and their families. They took their clients to the legal aid society and went with them to look for new housing. Grant and Kinder also found an important part of their job was getting acquainted with neighborhood children in the housing project where they shared an apartment.
