FoodSmart is a tailored multimedia nutrition education program designed for lower income audiences in settings such as public health clinics, food stamp offices, and community sites. It consists of 3 CD-ROM modules running on PC's, tailored to different target groups and health issues: adults interested in disease prevention, pregnant women and those with young children, and children/general audience. Based on formative research, we combined video soap opera plots with interactive "infomercials" that collect data and provide individually tailored feedback on diet and psychosocial factors related to improving eating behaviors. Results of 2 RCT's showed significant program effects on nutrition knowledge, self-efficacy, and stages of change.

The Technology Games will begin at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, March 18 and end
Saturday, March 20 at 10:45 a.m.
