The Office of Environmental Activities Mission

The Office of Environmental Activities was established to coordinate and oversee MARAD facility, activity, and program environmental compliance;
work with the U.S. maritime industry, international and domestic organiza-
tions, federal, state and local legislative and regulatory authorities to
establish economically sound environmental policies, laws, regulations
and standards for the maritime industry; and promote a sound,
environmentally responsible U.S. maritime industry.
