The TARGET Center is a new Web site and Help Desk (301-443-0067) that centralizes an array of technical assistance for Ryan White CARE Act (RWCA) programs, which deliver HIV care to underserved individuals. Resources include those developed by HRSA's HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB) as well as by other grantees, making this a "virtual community" for CARE Act grantees to learn and share ideas. Among the resources is a revamped best practices TA Library and links to CARE Act grantees around the nation. Also featured: a Help Desk (online or via phone) to get personalized assistance in finding resources and information and links to many technical resources available to CARE Act programs-like provider training and quality management.
TARGET stands for Technical Assistance Resources, Guidance, Education and Training. In addition to its TA library and Help Desk, additional features of the Web site include a calendar of events, highlights on most recent TA materials, and feature articles on the many TA resources available to CARE Act programs. The Help Desk can be reached from 10-4, Monday-Friday (Eastern Time) at 301-443-0067.
The TARGET Center and its Help Desk supplements the help provided by grantee project officers. Primary customers of the TARGET Center are HAB staff, RWCA grantees, planning bodies, funded-providers, consumers, contracted consultants, and others.
The TARGET Center Web site is managed by HRSA/HAB and its Division of Training and Technical Assistance (DTTA), in collaboration with its contractor, Writeprocess. Help Desk operators will be DTTA staff, who provide detailed responses to TA questions immediately or, if further work is needed, within 48 hours. HRSA/HAB will refine and improve the site over time with input from interested parties.
