OLIVER SPRINGS, Tenn.—The 15 new turbines at TVA’s expanded wind power site were dedicated in an Earth Day ceremony April 22. Officials from TVA and Invenergy LLC, a Chicago-based energy development company, participated, along with state and local officials and representatives from the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy and the U.S. Department of Energy. “The Buffalo Mountain wind farm has been expanded because of increased demand for renewable energy by Valley consumers, and it clears the way for TVA and distributors of TVA power to offer Green Power Switch to more people,” said TVA Director Skila Harris. “When they choose renewable energy through Green Power Switch, consumers in the TVA region are helping sustain resources for future generations.”
