Biotechnology

Biological Macromolecule Crystallization Database (BMCD) (NIST)*
Contains crystal data and the crystallization conditions which have been compiled from literature. Also includes the NASA Protein Crystal Growth Archive. Help: e-mail the BMCD Webmaster.
European Patent Office
HIV Protease Database (HIVdb)
An archive of experimentally determined 3-D structures of Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1(HIV-1), Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 2 (HIV-2), and Simian Immunodeficiency Virus (SIV) proteases and their complexes with inhibitors or products of substrate cleavage.
Human Mitochondrial Protein Database (HMPDB)
The Human Mitochondrial Protein Database (HMPDB) contains information about the human nuclear and mitochondrial encoding proteins. The mitochondrion plays a central role in cellular metabolism, and there is increasing evidence of mitochondrial involvement in a number of different human diseases. This database is intended as a tool to aid in studying these diseases. Email questions or comments to MitoDb@nist.gov.
Ingenta (Carl Uncover)
Citations with abstracts in all subject areas. Time coverage varies. Library does not subscribe to the full text document delivery service offered.
Medline
National Library of Medicine's comprehensive index to biomedical journal articles.
National Center for Biotechnology Information
A guide for navigation of the publicly available genome databases
NIST Data Gateway
Provides easy access to NIST Standard Reference Databases. These data cover a broad range of substances and properties from many different scientific disciplines. E-mail questions or comments to srdata@nist.gov.
NIST Standard Reference Materials
Approximately 1300 SRMs are currently available for use in; (1) industrial materials production and analysis; (2) environmental analysis; (3) health measurements, and (4) basic measurements in science and metrology. For questions or more information about SRMs e-mail srminfo@nist.gov.
PDB: The Protein Data Bank (NIST) *
