Clean Energy Exporter Guides Released
Resource Unveiled for U.S. Clean Energy Companies Looking to Export to China and India
Washington – The U.S. Department of Commerce today released two clean energy technology export guides to help American businesses navigate Chinese and Indian energy markets. The reports -- Clean Energy: An Exporters Guide to China,and Clean Energy: An Exporters Guide to India -- provide information to U.S. clean energy companies on current political and market conditions and future opportunities in these two growing economies. The guides also provide detailed information on Chinese and Indian national and local clean energy promoters and regulators.
“China and India represent two major market opportunities for American exports of clean energy goods and services,” said Commerce Market Access and Compliance Assistant Secretary David Bohigian. “These reports, and the Department’s upcoming trade mission to China and India, work to promote and deploy sustainable technologies to enhance energy security, drive economic development, and address climate change.”
Assistant Secretary Bohigian will lead a delegation of clean energy and environment exporters to China and India September 1-12, 2008. This trade mission, the third public-private venture led by the Department of Commerce, will visit Beijing, Jinan and Shanghai in China, and New Delhi, Hyderabad and Mumbai in India. The trade mission is part of President Bush’s Asia-Pacific Partnership for Clean Development and Climate. U.S. companies interested in this trade mission should visit www.export.gov/cleanenergymission. Businesses have until next Monday, July 21, 2008 to apply.
