ADAAG for Transportation Vehicles
The ADA Accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG) for Transportation Vehicles provide design criteria for new or remanufactured vehicles required to be accessible under the ADA. Issued by the Access Board in 1991, these guidelines cover access to buses, vans, various types of rail cars, and other public transportation vehicles and systems. These guidelines serve as the basis for standards issued by the U.S. Department of Transportation to enforce the ADA’s requirements for public transportation.
