Cover of Join the Voices for Recovery..NOW! Click here to visit www.recoverymonth.gov/2004/kit/.In preparation for the 15th annual National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month in September, SAMHSA recently released this year's Recovery Month toolkit to provide resources about treatment and recovery options.

This toolkit announces the theme of this year's celebration—"Join the Voices for Recovery…NOW!"—and provides planning tools for campaigns and events throughout the month-long celebration of people who are seeking treatment and leading productive lives in recovery.

Media outreach materials are included, as well as suggestions for publicizing treatment and recovery information throughout the community.

These materials, which include TV and radio public service announcements, were developed by and will be used by more than 75 organizations and coalitions within and outside the alcohol and drug addiction treatment field. The Recovery Month toolkit contains information on each of the target audiences identified by the national planning groups, as well as multiple lists of alcohol and drug addiction treatment agency and program resources.

For a Recovery Month toolkit, contact SAMHSA's National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information at P.O. Box 2345, Rockville, MD 20847. Telephone: 1 (800) 729-6686 (English and Spanish) or 1 (800) 487-4889 (TDD). Or, use the Recovery Month virtual toolkit online to craft your own public messages about recovery at www.recoverymonth.gov/2004. End of Article
