2) Greater cooperation and coordination among data centers, between data centers and data users, and between data centers and data producers can leverage the ability of any one data center to provide a wide spectrum of information. Within the fusion energy community for example, networks such as the IAEA A+M Data Center Network are a good starting paradigm for this type of effort. Also, appropriate division of labor seems to be required. A data center such as that at ORNL need not collect spectroscopic data when great expertise and experience in that area exists at NIST, and can be tapped through the appropriate links. Important to these cooperative efforts is willingness and means to give proper attribution to data and databases.
