Taraneh Bastani, Country Manager, Middle East and North Africa Region

Taraneh Bastani holds the position of Country Manager for the Middle East and North Africa region, specifically covering Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq and the West Bank. As such, she oversees USTDA grants and contracts and cultivates a pipeline of potential projects in her countries. Previously, Ms. Bastani served USTDA as an Evaluations Consultant in the office of Economics and Evaluation. There she assessed hundreds of USTDA projects with particular attention to project implementation status, U.S. export generation, and host country development benefit success.

Ms. Bastani graduated from the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs with a degree in International Politics and History. Prior to working at USTDA, she held positions within the Economic Interest Section/Project Advisory Assistance at the Embassy of Finland and the National Iranian American Council, both in Washington, DC. Ms. Bastani is originally from San Diego, California.
