The historic Shortt Clock

Master Clock Maker to Shed Light on Shortt Clock Restoration

Master clock maker Philip Hannah is coming to NIST Monday, October 28, to discuss the restoration of the Shortt clock - one of the most accurate mechanical clocks ever built. After months of work both at the NIST Museum and at his shop in Connecticut, Mr. Hannah has returned this historic clock to its prime condition. A clock collector in his own right, Mr. Hannah has special knowledge of time history and timepiece mechanics. At this special presentation, he will delve into the clock’s restoration and its unique historical significance. For more information about the Shortt clock and its renovation, read the article in Information Services Division Directions full article.
