Embassy Riga to Begin Immigrant Visa Processing for Children Adopted from Latvia

Beginning October 1, 2007, the U.S. Embassy in Riga, Latvia will process immigrant visas for children adopted from Latvia.
(Previously, immigrant visas for children adopted from Latvia were processed by the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw, Poland). All approved
petitions now will be sent to Embassy Riga.
If Embassy Warsaw already has received the I-600A approval for an adoption in Latvia, the adoptive parents may choose to pursue
the immigrant visa case with Embassy Warsaw if they wish. However, adoptive parents also may choose to complete immigrant
visa processing in Riga by requesting that Embassy Riga initiate a transfer of their case from Embassy Warsaw to Embassy Riga.
Prospective adoptive parents should make this request to the Consular Section of Embassy Riga at:
