New Mexico 9000 is a year-long, classroom style instruction program that provides coursework, consulting services, and ISO certified lead auditors to work with participating individuals in the implementation of an ISO 9001:2000 (see definition at right) quality management system in their companies. Through this program, New Mexico small businesses receive technical assistance to achieve ISO 9001:2000 compliance/certification at a very affordable cost.
New Mexico 9000 was established through an alliance among the State of New Mexico's Economic Development Department, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratories, and Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technology.
