TOPEX/Poseidon Altimeter MGDR-B, MGDR-C.
AVISO and PO-DAAC

Partial MGDR-B record Overview: Altimeter geophysical data records from both altimeters are the official product of the TOPEX/Poseidon Project. The files contain over one hundred parameters for each 1 second in time. The parameters include the altimeter range, the satellite height, waveheight, wind speed, ionospheric path delay, water vapor path delay, and many corrections and flags needed to estimate sea level. The data in this form are used by relatively few researchers. Data are on CD-ROM and also available via FTP, about 2 months after acquisition.

There are 2 nearly-identical versions of this product, one produced by PO-DAAC and labelled MGDR generation B, and one produced by AVISO labelled MGDR-C.

A CD-ROM of tidal models is available as a separate item, through PO.DAAC, although there are newer tidal models available.

Access:
CD-ROM and online http://www-aviso.cnes.fr (AVISO)
http://podaac.jpl.nasa.gov (PO-DAAC)
(US researchers are encouraged to use PO-DAAC; European researchers are encouraged to use AVISO.)
