Arizona is a leader in researching and developing energy efficient technologies.  A current project requires state-funded buildings derive at least 10% of their energy from renewable resources.  Arizona is home to the Palo Verde nuclear power plant – the largest capacity nuclear plant in the U.S.  The Palo Verde plant provides power to about four-million customers.
