Nutrition
When you were a little kid, you didn't have much say over the foods you ate. Now that you are older, you might not think all that much about whether the food choices you make are good for your health. But making a point now to learn about nutrition and the value of healthy eating is a good idea. It is important to do this as a teen because health problems caused by poor eating habits often don't show up until you get older. And when you are older, it may be harder to change your eating habits!
Some of the things you will find out about on this site include:
- What types of foods to choose
- What a portion size is and how much food your body needs
- How to read food labels
- Why bone health is so important (and what you can do about it!)
- How to deal with special food issues such as allergies
This information is power—it will help you learn how to fuel your body so that you can be your best each day. And it will help you take steps to help protect your health in the future.
