August 27, 2007

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – TVA has appointed Tim Weston as manager of Regional Development/Field Operations to oversee all of TVA’s economic development field operations throughout TVA’s service region.

Weston will supervise seven economic development field offices and is responsible for planning all aspects of program delivery for the field offices. He will work cooperatively with strategic regional, state and local partners to recruit new businesses, support existing businesses and industries, help communities be prepared for growth, and provide services to help communities improve the regional economy through quality jobs and investments.

TVA’s service region includes nearly all of Tennessee and portions of Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina and Virginia.

“We are pleased that Tim has accepted this new role and are confident that he will use his background and leadership abilities to support our customers and communities in their economic development efforts throughout the Tennessee Valley,” said TVA Senior Vice President of Economic Development John Bradley.

Weston began his career with TVA in 2003 as a field specialist providing services that promoted economic growth in the Mississippi region. He has assumed additional responsibilities while supporting rapid economic growth.

Prior to working at TVA, Weston was executive director of the Itawamba County Development Council in Mississippi. He led ICDC for seven years.

Economic development is a major part of TVA’s core mission. More information about TVA’s economic development efforts is available at TVAed.com.

TVA is the nation’s largest public power provider and is completely self-financing.
