TVA Regional Resource Stewardship Council To Meet in Knoxville

The Regional Resource Stewardship Council will meet March 13-14 in Knoxville to provide input to TVA on the stewardship portion of a new environmental policy and a natural resource management strategy being developed by TVA.

TVA staff will update the council on drought conditions that are still affecting the Valley and on a project to repair the Bear Creek Dam in northwest Alabama.

Carol Doss, Abingdon, Va., was recently appointed to the 20-member council as Virginia’s representative by Gov. Tim Kaine. The council was created to advise TVA on the management of natural resources in the Tennessee Valley.

The council will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Thursday, March 13, and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Friday, March 14, in the West Tower Auditorium of TVA’s Knoxville Office Complex, 400 W. Summit Hill Drive. Council meetings are open to the public

A public comment period will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 14. Anyone wanting to make comments at the meeting may register online at www.tva.com/rrsc or may register at the door by 9 a.m.

Speakers are asked to limit their remarks to no more than five minutes. Up to an hour will be allotted for public comments with participation available on a first-come, first-served basis. Hand-out materials should be limited to one printed page.
