TVA Requests Proposals for Operation of Honeycomb Campground, Day Use Area

GUNTERSVILLE, Ala – TVA is requesting proposals for the operation and management of the Honeycomb Campground and Day Use Area on Guntersville Reservoir.

TVA is seeking a qualified operator with proven operating skills, interested in creating a safe public recreation opportunity. A significant financial investment will be necessary in order to renovate the property and meet proper operating standards and codes.

The campground and day use area comprise about 33 acres of property adjacent to the reservoir. The facility will support approximately 140 campsites with water and electricity, two bath/toilet buildings with supporting septic systems, a dumping station for campers, and two sections of boat slips. The recreational day use area includes a swimming area, a concrete boat ramp with a hard surface parking lot and security lighting, a bath/toilet building, swimming beach, and picnic areas. The day use area is handicap accessible.
