Welcome to the United States Antarctic Program (USAP) web portal. Funded by the U.S. Government’s National Science Foundation (NSF), the USAP supports scientific research in an effort to understand the Antarctic region and its ecosystems; to understand its effects on (and responses to) global processes such as climate; and to use the region as a platform to study the upper atmosphere and space. The USAP also publicly provides research results and news in order to enhance basic knowledge and educational resources pertaining to Antarctica.
