Laos

Trade News:

 

The United States is working closely with Laos to implement the terms of the Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA) and support its accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). The second meeting of the working party for Laos’ accession met in November 2006.

 

Since the U.S. - Laos Bilateral Trade Agreement entered into force on February 4, 2005 Two-way trade has grown, reaching $16 million in 2006. 

 

Laos is the United States’ 189th largest trading partner.  

 

Trade Data:

 

U.S. goods exports in 2006 were $7 million. Corresponding U.S. imports from Laos were $9 million.  Laos is currently the 198th largest export market for U.S. goods.
