Description of Shipfitting Hazards on Matrix:


Falls - Injuries that result from falling on the same level or to a different level.

Burns - Injuries caused by contact with hot elements, surfaces or exposure to high temperatures; electrical current.

Shocks - Injuries caused by electrical current passing through the body.

Overexposure - Exposure to substances above specified limits.

Traumatic or Acute Injuries - Injuries that manifest immediately from lacerations and puncture wounds.

Eye Injuries - Injuries to the eye caused by external agents or forces such as flying objects, grinding dust, grit and molten metal.

Heat Stress - Prolonged exposure to hot workplace environments that cause the body’s core temperature to rise to unhealthy levels and may lead to heat exhaustion, cramps and heat stroke.
