OSHA Unites With Northeast Pennsylvania Organizations To Keep Workers Safe

McCLURE, Pa. -- The U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration will officially induct Lozier Corporation, McClure, Pa. into its Voluntary Protection Program as a STAR site at a special flag ceremony on Thurs., March 21, 2002 at 11:30 a.m.

The ceremony will take place at company headquarters, 48 East Ohio Street, McClure, Pa. Marie Cassady, OSHA deputy regional administrator, will make the presentation, along with Bob Fink, area director for OSHA's Harrisburg area office.

The Lozier Corporation produces wire and sheet metal shelving products used in retail stores, pharmacies, and for purchase displays and wall mountings. The company is noted for having three-year recordable injuries that are 24 percent below the industry average, and a lost workday incidence rate 18 percent below the industry average.

The STAR program, designed for worksites with comprehensive, successful safety and health programs, is open to any industry, and to companies with injury rates below the national average for their industry.
