Earned Value Management and Value Management

Earned Value Management (EVM)

EVM is a systematic approach to the integration and measurement of cost, schedule, and technical (scope) accomplishments on a project or task. It provides both the government and contractors the ability to examine detailed schedule information, critical program and technical milestones, and cost data.

Value Management (VM)

Also known as Value Engineering (VE) or Value Analysis (VA), is a professionally-applied, function-oriented, and systematic multi-disciplined team approach used to analyze and improve value in a product, facility design, system or service. VM can be applied to any business or economic sector including industry, government, construction or service. By enhancing value characteristics, VM increases customer satisfaction, and adds value to your investment. VM is a powerful methodology used for solving problems and/or reducing costs while improving value, performance, and quality.
