Lester K. Price

Biography

Les Price has over 40 years of project and program management experience with the Department of Energy and its predecessor agencies. His most recent assignment, from 1999 to 2006, was Federal Project Director for the Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) Project, located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. SNS was a $1.4 billion project to construct the world’s most advanced neutron science facility. The project was completed in May 2006, ahead of schedule, under budget, and exceeded the technical scope requirements. Earlier assignments were in Environmental Management, Nuclear Energy, and Magnetic Fusion at the Oak Ridge and Germantown locations. Les holds a B.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tennessee and completed the Oak Ridge School of Reactor Technology. He retired from DOE in June 2006, and is a part-time consultant.
