Fires in Central Africa

Hundreds, possibly thousands of agricultural fires were burning in the central African countries of Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Zambia on June 24, 2006. Each red dot on this image from the MODIS on NASA’s Aqua satellite shows the location of an active fire.
