President George W. Bush will meet Tom Joseph when he arrives in Findlay, Ohio, on Wednesday, October 27, 2004. Joseph, 66, is an active volunteer with the Findlay Habitat for Humanity chapter.

President Bush has called on all Americans to volunteer two years or 4,000 hours over the course of their lifetimes, and hecreated USA Freedom Corpsto help foster a culture of service, citizenship, and responsibility. Since March 2002, President Bush has met with more than 350 individuals around the country, like Joseph, who are answering the call to volunteer service.

Joseph is a charter member of the Findlay Habitat for Humanity affiliate which has built eight homes since its inception in 2000. For the past four years, Joseph has been the president of the board of directors and is responsible for organizing volunteers for administrative tasks and construction projects, as well as the selection of qualified families. He is also an active participant in the homebuilding projects. In addition, Joseph serves on the Findlay City Planning Commission and is construction manager for the church expansion project at First Presbyterian Church in Findlay.

Through USA Freedom Corps, President Bush wants to help every American answer the Call to Service by strengthening and expanding service opportunities to protect our homeland, support our communities, and extend American compassion around the world. Interested volunteers can find information at www.usafreedomcorps.gov or by calling 1-877-USA-CORPS.
