Title:  Cryogenic Insulation
Description:  Kevin Rivers, Thermal Structures Branch, checks electronic wiring on a test panel for a cryogenic insulation system. The thermal-mechanical testing is being done for Lockheed Martin as part of the X-33 Reusable Launch Vehicle (RLV) program. The foam panel, encased in an aluminum alloy, will be subjected to very low and very high temperatures and then be placed under heavyloads as part of the testing. Material in this panel may be used as part of an RLV fuel tank.
