PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Lewis' Educational & Research Collaborative Internship Project: NASA PLUS Project

[Students Grades 9-12]
[Available: OH]

Lewis' Educational & Research Collaborative Internship Project, or LERCIP, NASA PLUS is an educational, summer opportunity for 10th- and 11th-grade students who will be juniors and seniors in the upcoming academic year. A student is awarded an eight-week paid internship under the guidance of a Glenn Research Center administrator who serves as the student's mentor. The students gain meaningful experience in a research and development environment. They learn more about possible career choices in business and other areas such as education. Activities include classroom instruction, written reports, oral presentations and a variety of enrichment opportunities, such as career counseling and facility tours.
