PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Digital Learning Network

[Educators and Students Grades K-Higher Education]
[Available: Nationally]

NASA's Digital Learning Network™ is about connecting with the next generation of Explorers. The DLN assists in the fulfillment of NASA's demanding mission, '"to inspire the next generation of explorers," by sharing the knowledge and expertise of NASA scientists, engineers, and researchers with students in today's classrooms. Through the DLN, learners at all levels have the opportunity to interact directly with NASA experts, often from their workplace, to gain a new appreciation for the importance of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education.

The goal of the DLN is to enhance NASA's capability to deliver unique content by linking students and educators with NASA experts. The DLN offers videoconferencing or Webcasting at no charge, providing interactive educational experiences to students and educators from kindergarten to university levels across the Nation and around the world.

Two-way audio/video videoconferencing systems that are either H.320 or H.323 standards based are compatible with NASA's DLN. One computer with Internet connectivity and an optional projection device or a computer lab and Internet connectivity are necessary for participation in a Webcast; student interaction is possible via chat forum or e-mail.

Join us as we explore our world and beyond!
